Your Way Your Way
One of my favorite things in life is music - especially Christian music. I can be having the worst day, or be so upset about something and just go get in my car, crank up the stereo and get my focus back where it needs to be, on God. There are so many good contemporary Christian artists today. I have listed some of my favorites on my blogger profile, but the list is really much longer. The other day I was listening to Tree63 and something struck me that I had never thought about before. They have this song called, "Look What You've Done". I have copied the lyrics for you below.
Look What You've Done
Look what You've done for me
Your blood has set me free
Jesus my Lord look what You've done for me
I haven't been the same
Ever since that day I called Your name
Yahweh
Yahweh Look What You've done for me
What can I do for You my Lord?
I want You to know my heart is Yours
It's not a question of what You can do for me
But what can I do for You my Lord?
Up to Your cross I crawled
Now I am standing teen feet tall
Jesus my saviour look what You've done for me
Free at last I'm free
I owe You my life completely
Yahweh
Yahweh look what You've done for me
As I was singing this the other day when I sang and listened to the part that says Yahweh Yahweh, look what you've done for me - it sounded so much like the guy was singing, your way your way. It really struck me how that is what Christianity is really about. Giving up our way for God's way. It's not because He is some strict taskmaster who likes to give orders, but rather, He is this loving amazing God who knows all things and wants to bless us beyond our wildest dreams. But we seem to focus on ourselves and things that bring temporary pleasure instead of seeking what is truly good and lasting. It is so liberating to let go and let God - to know without a doubt that my life is in His control. Does that mean that things are always gonna be easy or go as I want? Nope, not at all, but I can trust that whatever God allows, is part of His plan and is all for my good.
If you would like to hear this song or some of the other great songs Tree63 sings, here is the link. http://tree63.com I guess you have to copy and paste as it didn't turn blue. May God touch your heart with His truth as you escape from the stresses in your life.
Your way Your way, Look what You've done for me. Oh yea - unhuh....

Welcome to my blog MGHW. I posted back to you once already but for some reason it didn't show up. Who knows?
Anyway - I do understand what Bru is talking about with the GD thing. I have to agree with Bru on it. But like you, I get frustrated hearing it over and over. I also wish Bru would level with us about his/her gender. Can't figure the big secret-but oh well.
I came to the Stephen Bennett blog to share my faith, and try to get some answers about the homosexual, and I was hoping to make some friends along the way, which I have. But I have been really upset by all the anger. I'm not sure what the answer is - but I think I need a break from all the negativity. I do wish you didn't think the conservative Christians were your enemy. I understand people like Fred Phelps make Christians look bad, but he is not even a Christian in my eyes. I do not believe he is pleasing the Lord with his actions. But I also don't think those who accept everything are pleasing the Lord. I do believe the Bible is reliable because I've studied it. I do not think the translation is unreliable and I think the Bible is very clear on what is sin and what is not. But unfortunately satan has power and is very successful in miscomunication and deception.
No one ever wants to be told they are wrong - none of us like that and I guess that is why it is so hard to communicate without anger on Stephen's blog. I guess the world will never agree on one interpretation of the Bible - so we will just have to wait to see what God says.
Anyway - thanks for visiting my blog - come back anytime.

The guy has now invaded Bru's blog with a huge tirade of absolutely vile and vulgar posts!
It's late but I sincerely hope Bru finds out very quickly in order to delete them!
That guy is REALLY SICK!

Lepi,
thank you so much for the update - again, I am so touched and humbled that you are lifting my Kristin up in prayer. It is an honor and blessing to our family. Thank you so so much!

Jojo,
Just wanted to let you know that I have turned off the blog comments section at my blog (temporarily) except for blog members. I'm still new at this blogging stuff and as I learn more I will be able to moderate it better.

I am glad you find my words kind. That is something I always pray about. I want so much to show love to everyone.
I do not have a theory on Bru - I just hope to get to know him/her better and I do love him/her as my bro/sis in Christ and I appreciate his/her desire to speak the truth. I just hope to encourage in love.
Yes, I know several homosexual people and have two in my family. I love them with all my heart. They are some of the smartest and most talented people I know. I would give my life for my brother if the occasion arose. But I must also be honest and tell you my heart is also heavy with the burden of their salvation. I know what the Word of God says about sin and living in sin and without Jesus. Homosexuality is one of many sins listed in the Bible.
I am thankful to know the saving grace of Jesus. I am a sinner saved by grace and I want others to know this truth also.
We have one other thing in common MGHW - my husband is bipolar. This can be a very difficult condition to live with. My husband is able to live a very productive and successful life with his medications. Anyway - I have a customer waiting on me - must be off to work.
God bless you and as I said before - come back anytime!

Jojo:
I just would like to ask:
Where have you encountered 'anger' at SBM's blog?? Are you referring to the anger demonstrated by any particular group, person or persons??
Jojo, you are correct that Satan has power but he can only use it as far as God will allow. I like to say Satan is on a leash. This is evidenced in what he was permitted to do with Job.
You are also correct in what you have said about 'no one likes to be told they are wrong'. This is called pride and pride is hated by God. We must turn that over to Him for destruction, but that is far easier for a born again Christian than it is for someone who is living in sin and enjoys what they are doing. There is also a fear factor to be considered.
When Christ called me out of my behavior of lesbianism I might say, there was a time of wrestling with God for me. Many a night would be spent on my way home from work, arguing and actually yelling at Him for a sign. I wanted to be so sure that my lifestyle was not approved of by Him before I would split from the woman I loved. Even after that was shown me by Him there were certain things that made it impossible for us to split cleanly.
She had a child of about fourteen and it was winter. She had no place to go and had to find a place and a new job. We had things to divide up such as bank and other possessions. Fortunately for me I started going to a church whose pastor was willing to bend and give us the necessary time. So I can understand the reason for some to have problems with this message.

MGHW:
Today's version of tolerance is so different from what I grew up with that the very word makes my skin crawl.
Why? because it no longer means to tolerate but rather it has been made to mean to even accept and keep still.
I can accept that a person has a right to choose their way of life. I cannot stay still when that way of life begins to trespass upon the area that is surrounding my child, or my relationship with God.
Homosexuality has done that and much more and then has become intolerant of my discomfort over these things.
It is a grave mistake for the church or society, no matter where it is, to rewrite scripture and/or laws in order to make a minority happy therebye throttling a majority of it's people.
Do you not understand why we would be up in arms over that?? That is precisely what has happened ever since this began.
Now, we are seeing the total destruction of the traditional family through the work of the homosexual activists, their sympathizers, Hollywood and the ACLU and Planned Parenthood all of whom I might say fit into the same mold.
Please tell me you don't see this happening MGHW?? And you want tolerance???
Another thing, being gay is not a gender. It is a behavior and it is sin. You analize Bru as though you live with him/her and yet you made a mistake in your post. You say it's a Bruce and then refer to him as 'she' in your statement that "she's so hurt".
What I see in your post to Jojo is a woman who is committed to her sin of lesbianism and who insists she is innocent while she goes about it. One who has claimed to be Christian yet denies what God has said in His instructional book to us.
There is an agenda and it is just as I talked of above. Homosexuals want nothing less than to destroy the heterosexual family by obliterating the defining factors of marriage as God ordained it to be.
You are not stupid and you are not unaware. Niether are the majority of homosexuals in America or anywhere else in the postmodern world.
